June 21st update on Boris Johnson’s weddings and social distancing delayed

Boris Johnson’s weddings, social distancing and masks update has been pushed back.

The Prime Minister is reportedly delaying an announcement on June 21.

The prime minister is said to have more time before committing to further easing measures and restrictions.

“I think it is sensible for a new variant like this and the need to collect as much data as possible in order to make our decisions,” the Prime Minister confirmed during a public appearance on Monday.

“It is right to take the time to get this information before making any final decisions.”

He said last Friday, “We’ll let people know as much as possible about weddings by the end of the month.”

And he continued, “All the details we are going to try to get people to know exactly where we will be on June 21st, step 4 by the end of the month.”

On Monday, the Prime Minister’s official spokesman said: “We will do this as soon as possible based on the latest data to inform ourselves of what measures we can take to achieve certification.”

The latest data on the Indian variant was needed and “we can use it to make final decisions”.
