Police discovered a shipment of counterfeit goods valued at £ 500,000 when they stopped vehicles near Birmingham Airport.
Dozens of sealed cardboard boxes piled high on the back of a truck as officials rumbled counterfeit goods destined for Saturday morning markets.
Traffic police stopped the vehicles on Terminal Road near Parking Lot 7 at the airport on Saturday, June 5, during an operation at 3 a.m.
In it they discovered counterfeit goods with a total retail value of £ 500,000.
The items were seized and confiscated when a man was arrested, police said.
The West Midlands Police Traffic Unit shared the news on Twitter along with pictures of the stop.
They wrote: “A few nights ago, A Unit Birmingham East supported NTF and Birmingham Trading Standards to stop vehicles hauling counterfeit goods worth a whopping £ 500,000 for Saturday morning markets.
“A great partnership that resulted in a man being arrested and the goods seized.”

The team added, “NTF1 officers along with Traffic WMP and Birmingham Trading Standards were wide awake at 3am this morning performing an operation.
“We stopped several vehicles carrying counterfeit goods with a sales value of £ 500,000. These were confiscated and one person was arrested. “
