Former Aston Villa midfielder Gareth Barry has said he “pitied” Jack Grealish when he spoke of a £ 100m transfer vortex from Manchester City.
The villa captain is the subject of massive offerings from Pep Guardiola after experiencing a stellar season both nationally and internationally.
Grealish will officially return to Villa training on Monday, where he will sit down with Dean Smith for crunch talks about his future.
It is said that should Grealish decide to move away from Villa Park this summer, the club will accept Man City’s offer.

However, Villa still hopes the player will put a new contract on paper at his youth club.
Barry was in a similar position in the summer of 2009 when he finally moved to Manchester after 11 years on the first team at Villa.
And he has explained why the next few days could be difficult for Grealish when making a decision about his future.
“It really brings back memories for me, I know where Jack’s possible head might be right now. It’s such a tough decision, ”Barry told Sky Sports.

“Jack loves Aston Villa, he’s been there since childhood, [he] supports the team and his whole family so that his head is scratching at the moment, it will be a really difficult decision for him.
“Jack has given everything for Villa for a long time, just like me. Whether he feels that now is the right time to leave or whether he feels like he can give another season, I don’t know because you never know what can happen in life and things will change be able.
“As a fan of Villa you will say give them another year and see what they can do, as a fan of Manchester City you will think they are coming now.
“I know Jack, he’s still improving and I think his game can be taken to another level so it’s a big decision for Jack and I’m sorry for having been there.”
Barry made a total of 434 appearances for Villa before moving to Man City, where he stayed for five years and made a total of 175 appearances for the club.
He played for Everton and West Bromwich Albion before announcing his retirement in the summer of 2020.
