Blackburn Rovers will have to forego two players when they visit Birmingham City this weekend.
Tony Mowbray’s high profile squad has been hit by Covid-19, which means one nameless player will be out after a positive test while another has to self-isolate.
However, Mowbray’s three injury concerns following their impressive Bournemouth win last time have all recovered in time to face the Blues.
Ryan Nyambe was forced to have an Achilles tendon scan in the 72nd minute at Vitality Stadium and was cleared to play.
Scott Wharton was also substituted at Bournemouth but due to a non-Covid-related illness and is well enough to resume – as is Bradley Johnson, who came on for Nyambe but limped 2-0 to the end.
Daniel Ayala and Sam Gallagher returned from their injuries last weekend and will also face Lee Bowyer’s men.
“He [Nyambe] has trained, modified training. He didn’t do the whole session, but he trained outside and is available for selection, ”said manager Mowbray.
“We’re pushing Ryan out right now to see how much of the game he can do. The demands on him as a right-wing defender have increased compared to the right-back. He adapts to the increased stress and is fine.

Bowyer is strengthened by the return of Maxime Colin after a two month hiatus with an Achilles problem and the fact that Ryan Woods and Gary Gardner have both returned from suspension.
