Byrne Dairy plans to open a second store in Broome County

Syracuse-based Byrne Dairy will expand its convenience store presence in the Binghamton area.

The company now intends to establish a Byrne Dairy & Deli in the village of Whitney Point. Byrne is currently completing work on his first Broome County store in Endicott.

Company vice president Christian Brunelle said the store would be located at Whitney Point off Route 11 on River Road. He said two packages for the project are under contract.

Broome County property records indicate that the properties are owned by Charles Manasseh.

Brunelle said the company’s presentation to the Whitney Point community board was “very well received.”

The plan is for a 5,152 square foot store that would be larger than the Endicott location. Brunelle said a car wash is also planned for the Whitney Point project.

Byrne Dairy now operates 63 convenience stores. Construction continues at the Endicott site at East Main Street and Loder Avenue. This store is scheduled to open at the end of May.
