Birmingham City threw away a two-goal lead to lose 4-2 at St Andrew’s to Coventry City.
Lee Bowyer’s team were well on their way to three points after Kristian Pedersen and Gary Gardner put them 2-0 up. But Coventry hit back before half-time with Ben Sheaf netting a quickfire double to ensure it was all square at the break.
The Sky Blues completed their comeback in the second half with Michael Rose and Callum O’Hare – who started his career at Aston Villa – finding the net. Blues have now won just four of their last 22 matches and sit 20th in the Championship with four games to play.

The club’s Championship status is secured for another season, with the gap between Blues and the relegation zone standing at 14 points. However, had it not been for Derby County and Reading’s points deductions, Blues would currently find themselves in the bottom three.
Crisis club Derby have been deducted 21 points this season and would be sitting comfortable on 49 points without that punishment. Reading, meanwhile, were deducted six points in November for breaching financial fair play regulations.
If Derby and Reading hadn’t been deducted points, Blues would be in deep trouble after today’s results. And a number of supporters pointed that out after their latest Championship setback.
One supporter tweeted: “Without point deductions, we’d be bottom three tonight…” Another added: “League table without points deductions: 22nd Birmingham P 42 Pts 45, 23rd P’Boro P 42 Pts 31, 24th Barnsley P 41 Pts 30 .”
A Blues fan said: “Can we end the season now?” Another asked why Jordan Graham wasn’t utilized by Bowyer: “Crazy subs. Formation was bad enough to start with. No one has a clue where they are playing. What has Jordan Graham got to do to get a game?!”
