Science Rendezvous Kingston 2022: Live events at the Leon’s Center from 10 am to 3 pm Webinar and STEM on Demand available at educ.queensu.ca/community/science-rendezvous. Celebrate science and honor Kingston-area researchers and scientists. Through May 22 you’re invited to hundreds of virtual and in-person events, and everything is free. Learn, have fun and be inspired by the wonder and possibilities of science, technology and engineering. This event is free and family-oriented. There is something for everyone.

The Sandy Pines Wildlife Center Virtual Baby Shower: Fundraising event from Friday at 10 am to Sunday at 4 pm This virtual, family-friendly event will virtually open the wildlife centre’s doors to the public. Filmed by our education co-ordinator Jess Pelow, Sandy Pines Wildlife Center director Sue Meech, medical director Leah Birmingham and facilities director Julia Evoy will take visitors through a virtual tour of the centre’s state-of-the-art clinic and see baby wildlife being fed and will visit some areas at Sandy Pines that have not been seen before. Garage and Bake Sale: 9 am to 1 pm at Cooke’s-Portsmouth United Church, 200 Norman Rogers Dr. The very popular assorted frozen meals will be returning so come early and stock up your freezer. So, homemade goodies will be on hand. Plus an indoor garage sale. Rain or shine.

Peace and Quiet at The Spire: Sanctuary is for silent meditation/contemplation from 11 am to 12:45 pm During these stressful times, people are welcome to spend some quiet time in a calm and beautiful space. Lens Masters series: Led by local photographers, learn the fundamentals at Kingston Frontenac Public Library. Join Garrett Elliott for the last of three sessions on composition, exposure and angles/points of view, then meet with Suzy Lamont for the final two sessions focusing on food and architecture. Remaining sessions are happening on May 12, 19,and 26 with varying start times. Participants will meet at the Central Branch in the Friends of Library Gather Space. Some sessions will involve leaving the library property to visit local landmarks or businesses.
