CANTON, Ohio — The first champion of the rebooted USFL will soon be crowned, as the favored Birmingham Stallions take on the Philadelphia Stars in Sunday’s title game here from Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
The USFL’s best team during the regular season, the Stallions reached the championship game with a win over the New Orleans Breakers in last week’s semifinal. The Stars, who have gone 5-1 since their Week 5 loss to the Stallions, punched their ticket by upsetting the New Jersey Generals in the other semifinal.
Fans can watch two of the league’s best quarterbacks in Birmingham’s J’Mar Smith and Philadelphia’s Case Cookus, as these teams finished No. 1 (Stars) and No. 2 (Stallions) in scoring. Sunday’s title game kicks off at 7:30 pm ET on Fox (stream on fuboTV, try for free).
