Oh the irony
Jack Grealish’s Manchester City debut ended in defeat when Leicester City won the Community Shield – and Aston Villa fans couldn’t help but make a pretty inevitable point.
Grealish, formerly captain of the mansion, completed his £ 100million move to City this week after speculating extensively about his future. CEO Christian Purslow made it clear that Grealish wanted to test himself in the Champions League if a club joins him this summer and fulfills the enormous release clause.
Though he’s still catching up after missing most of the pre-season with his new teammates due to his England commitments and subsequent vacations, Grealish was picked up among substitutes at Wembley against the Foxes and with the still goalless in the second half Game introduced.

Good business
Roy Keane believes the sale of Jack Grealish to Manchester City is good business for Aston Villa.
Grealish completed their £ 100m move to Premier League champions City this week, despite Villa in Danny Ings, Emi Buendia and Leon Bailey being well prepared for life without their former captain.
Keane, who is an expert these days but has spent some time at Bodymoor Heath as the first-team coach under Paul Lambert, believes Grealish in City and manager Pep Guardiola now has the potential to become an even better player than Villa developed has it until now.

Speculation about strikers
Aston Villa have been linked to a move by Lazio striker Joaquin Correa, if reports in Italy are to be believed.
According to Rome-based newspaper Il Messaggero, Villa is targeting wanton Lazio striker Correa this summer.
After Jack Grealish’s Premier League record of £ 100m at Manchester City earlier this week, Villa wasted no time replacing his goals and influence.
Emiliano Buendia joined the club in June while Leon Bailey and more recently Danny Ings followed the Argentine to Villa Park this summer.
