A mobile “vaccine van” offers commuters at Birmingham New Street Station Covid-Jabs.
Pfizer vaccinations were given to people aged 18 and over today, July 15.
Birmingham and Solihull NHS staff will operate the pop-up service from 9am to 6pm from the train station’s Eastern Plaza.

It will also return to the same place on Saturday 17th July; Friday July 23rd and Saturday July 24th.
Steven Ireland, Director of Customers and Stations for Network Rail, said, “It’s been great to work with the local NHS to use Birmingham New Street Station as a pop-up site for COVID vaccinations.
“I would like to urge passengers and passers-by to use the vaccination truck when it is at the train station to get their vaccination to stop the spread of COVID-19.”

Morag Gates, COVID Program Director for Birmingham and Solihull, said: “We know people are eager to get back to doing the things they enjoy like traveling and going out with their friends and family, and we want to that people do so safely. That’s why we’re doing everything we can to make sure everyone over 18 can get their jab.
“Vaccination is the most effective way to protect ourselves and others from the virus. Therefore, we would like to encourage anyone who has not yet received a vaccination to come to one of our mobile vaccine vans at New Street Station.
The plea came when it became known that less than 40 percent of the people on an inner-city ward had been vaccinated.

Only 39.7 percent of Newtown’s population have been vaccinated once. That means 6,000 of the 10,000 people on the ward were not stung.
At Holyhead Station, 41.2 percent are vaccinated. In Nechells, 42.9 percent are vaccinated.
In Sutton Wylde Green, a station in Sutton Coldfield on the outskirts, 86 percent of the population received at least one dose. In Northfield it’s 81 percent and in Hall Green South it’s 79 percent.
