Nigel Pearson has confirmed that Bristol City are interested in Reda Khadra, although it’s unclear whether they will be able to do a deal before he joins Birmingham City.
The attacker has endured a tough spell with Sheffield United from Brighton, so the Premier League side are expected to recall him in the coming days before sending the German U21 internationally elsewhere.
And, it had been claimed that Blues were the frontrunners, with a move to St Andrew’s line up.

However, speaking to Bristol Live, Pearson admitted he is a player that the Robins want, although he revealed that they are not in a position to do finalize the deal right now.
“His loan deal hasn’t really worked out for him. He would be a player that I think would be good for us and we as a club would be good for him. It’s something we are exploring again but as it stands at the minute, we can’t do any business until people leave.
“Whether it’s a sale or players leaving to free up potential wages. These are the nuances of getting the balance right, it’s not as straightforward as going out and adding to the squad or selling players.”
Did each of these 20 midfielders ever score a goal for Bristol City?

the verdict
It’s no surprise that there is plenty of interest in Khadra because he proved with Blackburn last season that he can be very effective at this level.
So, it would be a coup for either Blues or Bristol City to get him in and they will both be pushing to get it over the line.
It appears that Birmingham are in the driving seat to get this done but it could be interesting to monitor over the coming days and whether they are gazumped.
