Rekeem Harper, the new addition to Ipswich Town, described himself as “a fearless player who wants to excite people”.
The 21-year-old midfielder is coming from championship club West Brom for an undisclosed fee that is believed to be initially £ 500,000 with the potential to climb to £ 1 million.
“I would describe myself as an energetic player,” he told the club’s website after signing a three-year deal.
“I love attacking and defending. I love being on the ball and of course I want to score and score more goals. I feel like they are my strengths anyway.”
“I’m a fearless player who wants to excite people and bring results to the football club and help the team whatever I can do on the pitch.”
He continued, “Paul (Cook) said he enjoyed playing football. He likes young, hungry and energetic players who like to attack, defend and are just aggressive. One of the most important things to me is that he likes to give his players something. I think to get the most out of me, confidence is a big thing so Paul just sounded like the perfect character.
“I’ve really never been outside of Birmingham so it’s a massive change for me. I’m ready to make this sacrifice to improve my career and go in the direction I want to go. I’m very motivated and want to do something “This step shows this. I can’t wait to settle in and start working with the team. “
Blues boss Cook said: “I want to thank our owners and Mark (Ashton) for helping us with the number of signings we have to make.
