Anne Pierce Bailey | Daily Mountain Eagle

Anne Pierce Bailey, 92, a wonderful wife, mother, and Nana of Seymour, Tennessee, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 16, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

She was a committed Christian who eternally loved Jesus and had the absolute assurance of her salvation and life. She is finally reunited in heaven with Joe, her beloved husband of 61 years, as well as her parents, Ed and Wyola Pierce, of Jasper. Two of their favorite hymns were “It Is Well With My Soul” and “How Great thou Art.” Anne enjoyed singing them with Joe in his last days before he passed in 2012.

Anne grew up in Jasper before moving to Birmingham after marriage. For over thirty years she was a member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Birmingham. She touched hearts with her God given singing voice and sang solos in the choir, as well as at weddings and other events. Her voice was only matched with her amazing talent for painting beautiful pictures that won several awards through the years.

She is survived by her daughter, Jan Bailey Cleveland (David); one granddaughter, Lisa Cleveland Dovenbarger (Bryce); and four great grandchildren, Lily, Logan, Ella, and Ethan of Knoxville, Tennessee; her sister, Jeane Pierce Freeman, of Jasper; and her brother, Thomas Grimes Pierce (Belle Cameron) of Atlanta, Georgia; as well as seven nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 11 am Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Atchley Funeral Home chapel in Seymour, Tennessee with pastor Mark Gumprecht officiating. Interment will follow in Atchley Seymour Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10 am – 11 am Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Atchley Funeral Home, 122 Peacock Court, Seymour, TN 37865, (865) 577-2807. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com).
