The Three Lions squad was pictured jetting off to the World Cup from Birmingham Airport this morning.
The England squad will soon land in Qatar for the FIFA World Cup after jetting off from Birmingham Airport this morning, November 15. Taking to the runway on foot after a short ride on a BHX shuttle bus, Gareth Southgate led his players onto the infamous plane to the world’s biggest football festival.
As is the nature of such a historic moment, photographers from Birmingham Airport were at the scene to snap the Three Lions stars as they made it off the bus and up the steps of the Airbus A350-1000. The likes of manager Southgate, captain Harry Kane, Leicester City star James Maddison and former Wolverhampton Wanderers man Conor Coady were among those pictured.

Their journey to the Middle East comes five days after the final 26-man squad was announced by Southgate. Some controversial choices were made – including the omission of Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings. Ex-Wolves captain Coady was the only player on the roster currently contracted to a West Midlands club – as he was loaned to Everton from the Wanderers in the summer.
The Three Lions, who were drawn in Group B, take on their first game of the tournament against Iran at 1pm on Monday, November 21. They then take on the USA on November 25, before rounding off the group stage with a heated fixture vs Wales on November 29.
