Manchester United already know which shirt number Jude Bellingham wants

Jude Bellingham’s decision on his favorite shirt number is a case of simple math.

The young English star has shone in the Bundesliga for Borussia Dortmund this season after making the leap from the championship where he left the Birmingham City youth club last summer.

He was able to pick up where he left off in the Blues after receiving the 22-man jersey that has since made him famous.

In fact, the club made headlines when they pulled that number back after joining last summer, and while the jersey’s color changed when he moved to Germany, the number stayed the same.

Midfielder Bellingham has already caught the attention of Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate and his recent Champions League exploits over two legs against Manchester City will only increase interest in him from elsewhere – including from behind in the Premier League.

Manchester United, aiming to be active next summer, have made teammate Erling Haaland their top priority in the transfer market and are long-time admirers of Dortmund’s other young English star, Jadon Sancho.

However, Bellingham could be another one to consider in the future. His favorite shirt number should be available this summer. Goalkeeper Sergio Romero has been frozen by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and is expected to leave to clear a seat in the Old Trafford dressing room.

The director of the Birmingham Academy, Mike Dodds, has now explained how Bellingham got the election of 22. After they are explained, it all adds up.

“We sat in one of his reviews. It’s one of those things that really annoys me when you look back at the past and wish you recorded it or wrote it down, ”Dodds told Sky Sports.

“We sat on one of his reviews and he wanted to be number ten like most kids – ‘I want to be number ten, score, create,’ all those kinds of things.

“I told him I thought he was doing himself a little bad. I thought he could do anything. I thought he might be one of the first English players – surely Gazza was the only one of my generation I can remember who could do anything.

“I told him I thought he might be 22. He looked at me as if to say what are you about? People call it a 4 or a 6, we call it a 4. I told him you could be a 4, you could be an 8, and you could be a 10.

“Really, from then on he really held onto it. We have rated it 22 in all of its reviews. Whenever we checked his game and asked him what he is today, he would say, “I was more like a 4 than an 8” or “I was more”. from an 8 to a 10 ‘.

“It’s something that has stayed with him throughout his journey.”
